Beloved sons and daughters of Iyin Kingdom,
It is with immense joy and pride that we celebrate a monumental milestone in our history — the approval and scheduled take-off of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti, by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. This historic achievement is not just a gift to our land; it is a legacy for generations to come.
We give heartfelt thanks to the Almighty and extend special appreciation to our worthy son, Distinguished Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB), the Oluomo of Iyin Kingdom, whose selfless dedication, time, and substantial financial commitment have made this dream a reality. His efforts have paved the way for what will soon become a beacon of learning, innovation, and transformation on our soil.
However, as we prepare for the September take-off, the work is not yet done. The university is yet to begin receiving official federal funding, and certain critical needs must be addressed immediately to ensure a smooth launch.
What We Must Do — Together
Renovate houses generously released by individuals to accommodate the principal officers of the university.
Repair and repurpose the NYSC Skill Acquisition Centre along the old Iyin-Ado Road — pending its release by NYSC.
Rehabilitate facilities at the Federal Ministry of Works office complex and quarters.
Provide logistics for welcoming and hosting various federal teams from Abuja coming for inspections and coordination.
These are urgent and important needs, and we must not leave the burden to one man — no matter how noble. Now is the time for all of us — sons, daughters, friends, and allies of Iyin Kingdom — to rally together with one heart and one purpose.
