Senator Bamidele described the university’s approval as a "landmark decision" that will shape Nigeria’s future in agriculture, environmental science, and technological innovation.

“This university will fill critical gaps in science, technology, and innovation while also addressing challenges in climate change, environmental sustainability, and food security,” he stated.

With FUTES Iyin-Ekiti set to commence academic activities in September 2025, the university is positioned to become a hub for world-class education and research, benefiting not just Ekiti State but the entire nation.
